It’s going to be an intriguing fall for Stone Temple Pilots fans if the band’s Sunday night (Sept. 1) performance in Los Angeles is any indication. The revamped rock outfit welcomed a handful of fans and media out to their San Fernando Valley rehearsal space for a brief run through of material in advance of their fall tour.

This is definitely a key run for the veteran rockers, who have welcomed Linkin Park‘s Chester Bennington as their new frontman. So far, the group has pretty much stuck to well-known tracks during their limited performances this summer, but as Sunday night’s private preview showed, it’s time for this version of STP to dig deeper into the catalog.

Those in attendance were given an up-close view of the new-look STP, performing in the dimly lit rehearsal space while visibly enjoying the experience of embracing their catalog. The performance opened with a blistering rendition of ‘Sex and Violence’ from the ‘No. 4′ album, showing Bennington’s prowess in being able to handle the full-on rocker.
